Lexington, SC (WLTX) A 9-year-old boy was killed in a traffic accident on I-20 early Thursday afternoon.
According to the Lexington County coroner Margaret Fisher, the accident happened in the eastbound lane of I-20 around 1PM.
The victim, 9-year-old Kade Crocker of Lexington was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries he sustained. The vehicle he was a passenger in, collided with a vehicle that had stopped in the left lane to assist a disabled vehicle in the center lane. Kade was wearing a seat belt when the accident occurred. The driver of the vehicle was was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
