Arrests Made in Series of Orangeburg County Thefts, Two Suspects Still Sought

Orangeburg County, SC (WLTX) - Orangeburg County deputies made several arrests in connection to property thefts around the Santee area.

Taylor Weatherford, Tabitha Weatherford, Thomas Smith and Jimmy Martin stole four golf carts from Lake Marion Golf Course two weeks ago, according to a report. Three of the four carts, worth about $26,000, have been recovered.

Taylor, 25, faces three counts of grand larceny, two counts of third-degree burglary and one count of petit larceny. Her bond was set at $58,125. Tabitha, 33, is charged with one count of grand larceny. Her bond was set at $12,000. Smith, 31, is charged with grand larceny. His bond was set at $12,000. Martin, 48, faces three counts of grand larceny, three counts of third-degree burglary and one count of petit larceny. His bond was set at $68,125.

Christopher Peagler, 30, was also taken into custody for reportedly breaking into several homes and stealing an AC unit and power tools. Peagler​​​​​​​ is charged with three counts of grand larceny, three counts of third-degree burglary and one count of petit larceny. His bond was set at $68,125.

Deputies are still looking for 40-year-old Terry Blewer, Jr., and 34-year-old Michelle Pendarvis in connection to the theft of more than $100,000 worth of items, including trailers, a motorcycle, jetski and travel trailer.

The stockpile was discovered after a tip lead deputies to a property on Blewer's Bonner Avenue in Santee on August 27.

“We’re in the process of returning the stolen property as we speak,” said Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell. “If anyone has any information on the remaining two, we have a place for them as well.”
