NEWBERRY, S.C. — Traffic is blocked in a Newberry County neighborhood as crews respond to a barricaded suspect on Saturday afternoon.
Sheriff Lee Foster said law enforcement responded to a domestic violence situation, and the suspect is still inside the home in the area of Main and Summer streets. He said drivers should expect Summer Street from Main to Johnstone to be blocked as officers remain in the area.
Witnesses called News19 on Saturday afternoon, reporting a large police presence in the area. Authorities didn't provide additional information on the incident that led to the current barricaded suspect response.
