FAIRFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — The Big Grab 50-Mile Yard Sale begins in Blythewood and extends to Ridgeway and Winnsboro.
Hundreds of vendors from around the state set up to sell their crafts, food, and unique valuables.
Horace Moore’s house is on the path of the 50-mile stretch. He said they use this event as a community gathering.
“The community gathering brings in my wife has a bunch of girlfriends and set up so its like four or five people here," said Moore. "It also bring together people you never knew in the neighborhood you meet people from Augusta, we met somebody from Virginia this morning so it’s a real nice way to get to know people and sell some stuff.”
Rick Earnhardt and his wife have been coming to the big yard grab for years.
“Downtown has shrunk a little bit because they have got off the lots already sold and people building on it, but on the outside area, it’s growing actually," Earnhardt said. "It's growing down 21 towards 77, and it hasn’t been like that for the last couple of years, but it's growing down that way now.”
Debrah Graham lives in Columbia and said she's on a mission to find fall decorations.
“I just love fall, and I love summer, too, and spring, but fall is my favorite," Graham said. "So, I’m out today looking for fall stuff and probably some other stuff that I can use in my house and around my house and out the outside.”
Greg Crolley lives in Sumter but got to Blythewood early Friday morning to set up his fishing booth.
“With everybody that’s coming here from near and far, I’ve seen this big grab for years I come and go shopping," said Crolley. "But now I decided to try and sell some stuff and you know its been pretty good, its been fun.”
Despite the threat of rain on Saturday, the yard sale will still happen between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.
