Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A strong area of high pressure originating from Canada continues to move through the U.S., and that means we're going to see some very cold temperatures in the coming days.
Forecasted lows throughout the Midlands into Friday morning are expected to drop into the lower 30s, with some areas seeing the upper 20s. There won't be much of a warm-up during the day either, with the high only expected to get into the mid-40s.
There is a strong possibility of a hard freeze Saturday morning, with low temperatures bottoming out in the low 20s. Sunday's overnight lows are also being forecasted in the mid 20s. The high on Saturday will only be in the mid-40s, but on Sunday, it will be in the mid-50s.
We will have a lot of sunshine Friday and Saturday to warm us up into the mid to upper 40s, then into the mid 50s by Sunday afternoon.
