CAYCE, S.C. — Two missing children and their mother, who was wanted by Cayce Police, have been found. Both children, ages 9 and 10, are safe, according to the Cayce Police Department.
Police say Erica Miller Lawrence is now in custody, and the children have been located safe and are in DSS custody.
Last Thursday Cayce Police said they were looking for a wanted woman and two missing, endangered children.
Police had said 35-year-old Erica Miller-Brown was wanted for custodial interference and obstruction of justice.
Both children were considered endangered, according to the Cayce Police Department.
Police had said Brown and the children were last seen on April 14, 2023 at Lexington Medical Center on Sunset Boulevard.
According to authorities, Miller-Brown was aware of a court order, dated April 7, that would place the children in emergency protective custody but refused to cooperate with law enforcement or the S.C. Department of Social Services.
When confronted about the location of children, police say Miller-Brown refused to cooperate and gave false information.
Police also warned that anyone who helps Miller-Brown avoid arrest or prevents the children from being located will face prosecution.
