SUMTER, S.C. — A water main break at a Sumter County school has forced the school to dismiss early for the day.
Sumter School District said Monday a line that serves Cherryvale Elementary School broke in the morning. The district said water was not expected to be restored until the afternoon.
Because of that, the school began dismissing early mid-morning. Buses began running to the school at 9:30 a.m.
School staff were set to remain at the school until all students are picked up.
