Sumter woman no longer considered missing

Sumter County Sheriff's deputies say a woman reported missing by her family has made contact with the family and is no longer considered missing.

SUMTER, S.C. — Sumter County Sheriff's deputies say a woman reported missing by her family has made contact with the family and is no longer considered missing. 

The agency said Tuesday that the woman was last seen by her family on July 29, 2024. The last time they had contact from her, according to deputies, was on September 7, when they said she sent them a text message.

Her family then reported her missing on September 9. According to her family, she's been known to leave in the past but she usually returns soon.
