Firefighters rescue man who fell into 50-foot well in Cobb County

Officials said a 50-year-old man went into the woods late Thursday night to find his cell phone when he fell into an abandoned well, which was about 50 feet deep.

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Cobb County Fire and Emergency crews rescued a man who fell into a 50-foot well on Friday morning. 

Officials said a 50-year-old man went into the woods late Thursday night to find his cell phone when he fell into an abandoned well, which was about 50 feet deep. 

When he didn't return home on Friday morning, the man's family began searching for him along with Cobb County Police, who found him inside the abandoned well. 

Cobb Fire's technical rescue team was able to rescue the man from the well safely, and he was then transported to a local hospital for treatment. There is no word on his condition at this time.
