Columbia Dollar Tree catches fire on Saturday

The 4000 block of W. Beltline is closed to traffic while crews are on scene. Drivers should seek alternate routes and avoid the area.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — A Columbia Dollar Tree caught fire on Saturday afternoon.

Officials with the Columbia-Richland Fire Department say crews are working to bring a fire that spread through an area Dollar Tree under control.

Crews responded to the store on W. Beltline Boulevard shortly before 2:30 p.m. Upon their arrival, firefighters saw smoke showing from the building.

Due to the spread of the fire and it’s impact on the integrity of the store, crews made a withdrawal from the property and began fighting the fire defensively.

As of 5:52 p.m. Saturday, operations were continuing.

So far, no injuries have been reported.
