COLUMBIA, S.C. — This year's Columbia Greek Festival is officially off due to COVID-19 concerns.
Organizers say the decision was a difficult one but, above all, the health and well-being of attendees and volunteers is their top priority.
Festival organizers say it simply is not logistically possible to comply with the recommended COVID-19 safety guidelines for a crowd as large as the festival typically draws. In 2019, the festival attracted more than 170,000 attendees to the weekend event.
