Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Columbia's first Costco store now has an official opening date.
The company sent letters to people in the area confirming that the superstore will open on August 10 at it location on Piney Grove Road and Fernandina Road. That is just off Interstate 26 and about a mile away from the Harbison shopping center.
The retail giant has stores in most of the major cities around the state, including Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Greenville, and Spartanburg, but hadn't opened up a location here.
The effort to bring Costco to the area has been underway for over a year.
