Two injured, 20 displaced after condo fire in Richland County

The building is said to have suffered heavy damages. 20 residents have been displaced.

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — Two people were injured in a condo fire in north Richland County on Tuesday afternoon.

Crews with Columbia-Richland Fire Department say they, along with crews from Irmo Fire District, brought a 2-alarm fire under control at a condo building on Old Manor Road. Firefighters initially responded to the scene off of Broad River Road just before 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Upon arrival, crews say they found fire moving quickly through the building and roof. This prompted officers on scene to call for a 2nd alarm, dispatching more companies to the scene.

The building is said to have suffered heavy damages and 20 residents have been displaced.

Two occupants of the building have been transported for injuries, according to officials.

In all, over 19 fire units were involved in fighting the fire.
