RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — The coroner's office is now involved in a fire investigation in Richland County on Friday morning.
The Columbia-Richland Fire Department said the fire happened around 11 a.m. on Beaverbrook Road. The road is in a residential area off of Fairfield Road.
Second-shift crews found fire and smoke throughout the home when they arrived. During their search, they found one person in a rear bedroom and got them out through a window. Richland County Emergency Medical Services took the person from the scene. A second person had minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital.
The Richland County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause now that the fire has been extinguished.
