COLUMBIA, S.C. — Traffic on Interstate 20 West in Columbia is moving normally again after a crash late Wednesday afternoon.
The collision happened in an area one mile west of Exit 68, which is the Monticello Road exit, and not far from the Broad River bridge.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation says the crash took place around 5 p.m. At one point, all lanes were blocked, but just after 6 p.m., one lane was reopened. By 6:40 p.m., all lanes were reopened.
Traffic cameras in that location had shown officers and fire trucks blocking drivers from moving further. At one point the backup extended for miles.
What caused the crash is not yet known. There is also no word on injuries.
