Columbia, SC (WLTX) - The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources says they're getting reports of dead alligators across the state.

The agency says the unusually cold snap in January was hard on many animals, including reptiles. But they said their biologists are hoping to learn more about how the alligators were impacted.

The agency says if people have seen a dead alligator, they want to hear about it. They're asking people to include the location, date found, number of dead animals, and the size estimate of the animal.

People can send those reports to Andrew Grosse at GrosseA@dnr.sc.gov.
