Orangeburg, SC (WLTX) - An inmate sought by deputies for almost two months has been captured.
Investigators say Curtis Green, 20, was taken into custody Tuesday morning by Orangeburg deputies.
Green is said to have attempted to carjack at least one person around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. He was arrested two hours later.
Green, along with two other escaped the Orangeburg County Detention Center on May 19 when a guard was overpowered and assaulted.
He was being held on charges of murder.
The other escapees, Tyshon Johnson, 27, and Christopher Boltin, 27, were recaptured less than six days after the escape.
Investigators say Johnson was arrested in the Winston-Salem area of North Carolina May 22.
We're told he was at a Shell gas station in a stolen SUV. Officials were able to surround the car and take Johnson into custody. He was also found with a rifle.
Johnson was originally in jail on murder charges.
Boltin was originally charged with carjacking and grand larceny.
News19 learned that Boltin's father, Hoyt Boltin was then charged as an accessory after the fact in the escape.
In an exclusive interview with Sheriff Ravenell, News19 also learned that 5-6 additional inmates also tried to escape, but did not make it past the fence.
