Columbia, SC (WLTX) — Officials say they believe a fire at a Columbia apartment complex Sunday afternoon was caused by a dog knocking over some burning candles in one of the apartments.
The two-alarm fire damaged 12 units at Briargate Apartments on Old Manor Road, off of Broad River Road in Columbia, according to authorities.
The American Red Cross said they are helping 17 adults by providing financial assistance and essential items.
Just last month, a fire damaged 12 units at the apartment complex.
Back in January, a fire displaced residents from 12 apartments at the complex.
