Former Benedict College officer forged document to get his job, deputies say

Richland County deputies say he forged the document to become a campus police officer at Benedict College.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — A local campus police officer is facing forgery charges after allegedly falsifying documents in a recent case.

Clarence Edward Adamson, 35, said he paid a $4,835 judgement against him by transferring money to the plaintiff. He made this claim in a forged document earlier this month, according to a report.

Richland County deputies say he forged the document to become a campus police officer at Benedict College.

Adamson resigned from the college earlier this month, and turned himself into deputies Wednesday morning. He is being held at the Richland County Detention Center.
