According to the Indiana Convention Center's website, the mayor will hold a short ceremony and then flip a switch at 10:30 a.m. to turn off the roof-supporting fans. The deflation is expected to last 30-45 minutes.
Along withthe deflation, non-vitalwalls and ceilings are being removed as well in preparation forthe planned expansion of the Indiana Convention Centerto 1.2 million square feet. The Convention Center should take the place of the Dome by 2010.
The Dome was home to more than the Colts in its 24-year history: trade shows, church assemblies, and more filled the 725,000 square feet of exhibition space.
