SALUDA, S.C. — We now know when funeral services will be held for two South Carolina firefighters killed during Tropical Storm Helene.
George Satcher and Landon Cale Bodie, both of Leesville, were killed on Friday, September 27, 2024, after a tree fell on their fire truck while responding to a call for service in Saluda County during Tropical Storm Helene. Both were stationed at the Circle Volunteer Fire Department.
The funeral service for Bodie will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 6th, at the Batesburg-Leesville High School Fine Arts Center with interment to follow at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. prior to the service beginning at the Fine Arts Center.

The funeral services for Satcher will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at the Batesburg-Leesville High School Fine Arts Center with interment to follow in Ridge Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday evening at Milton Shealy Funeral Home of Batesburg.
