Columbia, SC (WLTX) — Salmonella concerns prompted Flowers Foods to issue a nationwide recall for Swiss Rolls and Captain John Derst's Old Fashioned Bread.
The brands affected are Mrs. Freshley's. Food Lion, H-E-B, Baker's Treat, Market Square and Great Value distributed nationwide.
The recall also includes Captain John Derst's Old Fashioned Bread sold in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
Flowers Foods said the recall is due to the potential presence of Salmonella in an in ingredient, whey powder. The ingredient recall was initiated by a third-party whey powder manufacturer and supplier.
No illness have been reported in connection with the recalled items.
