HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A Harris County Sheriff's Office K9 was part of an investigation that recently led to a big ecstasy bust.
K9 Trek is credited with taking as many as 100,000 ecstasy pills off the streets, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
The sheriff said the seizure was part of an ongoing investigation.
The HCSO K9 Unit is made up of teams of handlers and canines heavily trained in multiple areas to ensure the safety of the community.
Along with drug busts, they help find dangerous materials like explosives and wanted or missing people.
Each team is kept together until the handler or dog retires.
