A second house collapses into ocean, Cape Hatteras National Seashore says

Dangerous debris may be present on the beach and in the water near the collapse site, according to the National Park Service.

RODANTHE, N.C. — UPDATE: A second home has collapsed on G A Kohler Court in Rodanthe, North Carolina, according to Cape Hatteras National Seashore.

Leftover debris, including pieces of wood, sit on the beach after a second home in Rodanthe, North Carolina collapsed.

Law enforcement rangers from the Cape Hatteras National Seashore said they confirmed the unoccupied house that collapsed on Friday had been washed out into the ocean before a majority of it returned to the beach at the south end of G A Kohler Court.

The first house that collapsed was located at 23001 G A Kohler Court in Rodanthe, North Carolina. It's the third home in the Outer Banks to collapse this year. 

Cape Hatteras National Seashore said in an online statement on Facebook that there may be dangerous debris present on the beach and in the water close to the collapse site.

National Park Service staff are expected to be back on the beach today to help clean up debris from the house collapse. There may be temporary beach closures while debris from the collapse is being cleaned.
