Every parents wants to know, "How sick is too sick to send my child to school?"
Pediatrician Lauren Matthews has a pretty simple checklist for parents to go over before sending their child to school with a sickness.
- Can other children potentially get sick from my child?
- Is my child's illness going to keep them from participating in regular school activities?
- Will my child require more care from a teacher or caregiver then would typically be required?
Matthews says a child must be fever free 24 hours before they can return back to school and they should be fever free without Tylenol or Motrin.
She is also reminding parent to refresh their children on basic sanitizing techniques like frequent hand washing and coughing or sneezing into tissues or sleeves.
