COLUMBIA, S.C. — One person is dead and two other injured after a crash on Interstate 20 in Richland County.
The incident happened around 11:20 p.m. Tuesday along I-20 where it intersects with Highway 277, about seven miles north of the city.
Troopers said the crash involved one car. According to investigators, the car was driving south on Highway 277 when the car ran off the road, then travelled across all three westbound lanes before crashing into the median barrier.
One passenger in the vehicle died at the scene. Two other people inside where taken to Prisma Health Richland for treatment. A fourth person inside the vehicle sustained no serious injuries.
The collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
