Kentucky State Police searching for missing 8-month-old baby: Here's what we know

Miya Rudd was last suspected to be in the care of her parents; however, authorities said she couldn't be found during the welfare check.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky State Police (KSP) are searching for a missing 8-month-old baby in Ohio County. 

KSP said they opened a missing child investigation Thursday after a search warrant and welfare check concerning Miya Rudd, of Reynolds Station, was conducted.

Police said officers arrested and charged the mother of the missing infant, Tesla Tucker, 29, with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl), possession of drug paraphernalia and abandonment of a minor. 

She is currently booked at the Daviess County Detention Center in Owensboro. 

Cage Rudd, 30, was also arrested and charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl), first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia and abandonment of a minor. 

He is also booked at the Daviess County Detention Center. 

Miya is described as having brown hair and green eyes. She was last suspected to be in the care of her parents, Tesla and Rudd; however, authorities said she couldn't be found during the welfare check.

KSP is requesting anyone with information regarding the missing child to contact them immediately at (270) 826-3312.
