The two men were found shot to death at a location in the 300 block of Koon Store Road.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Richland County Coroner has identified the two men who were shot to death in a shooting near Columbia Saturday night.

Coroner Naida Rutherford said Monday morning the victims were 40-year-old Corey Johns of Lexington and 37-year-old Jibaris Veal of Columbia.

The two men were found shot to death at a location in the 300 block of Koon Store Road, which is just off Fairfield Road, a few miles north of Columbia.  Richland County deputies said they were called to the scene around 10:30 p.m. Saturday after getting a report of a shooting.

An incident report said when deputies got there they found a Jeep Cherokee inside a shed on the back of the property. They said the two victims were found inside.

Investigators have not yet said what they think may have led to the shooting or who may be responsible.

The sheriff's department urged anyone with information about the incident to call their office or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC or CrimeSC.com.
