LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — A Lexington woman is dead after an accident on Boiling Springs Road Tuesday morning, according to troopers with the SC Highway Patrol.

Officials say the accident happened around 7:38 a.m. on Boiling Springs Road at Longview Street, about eight miles south of the town of Lexington.

Nita Lynn Regino, 52, of Lexington was killed in the accident, according to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher.

Troopers say 2009 Chevy pickup was traveling north on Boiling Springs Road when it collided with a 2019 Chevy sedan, driven by Regino, who was traveling east on Longview Street.

Regino, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene due to the injuries sustained in the collision, according to the coroner.

The driver of the pickup truck, who was the only passenger in that vehicle, was transported by EMS to Lexington Medical Center.

The collision remains under investigation by the SC Highway Patrol.
