Sumter County, SC (WLTX) — Bond was denied for the man charged in an armed robbery in Sumter County Friday night that left the store clerk seriously injured, according to Sumter County deputies.

Chauncey Antonio Wright, 23, of Mayesville, is charged with armed robbery.
Magistrate Judge Larry Blanding denied bond for Chauncey Antonio Wright at a hearing Monday morning.
Deputies say Wright severely beat a store clerk before robbing The Station convenience store on Florence Highway in Mayesville around 8:30 p.m. Friday night.
Deputies say they identified wright as a suspect after extensive investigation positive identification of Wright in a photo lineup.

Investigators say they got a description of a vehicle Wright might be driving and a deputy on patrol happened to stop a vehicle matching that description on an unrelated traffic offense. Wright, who was in the vehicle, was then arrested, say deputies.
The victim remains in stable condition at a local hospital, according to deputies.
