Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Columbia police are investigating the death of a man who was struck by a cement truck while walking near downtown.
The collision happened Thursday morning at the intersection of Main Street and Elmwood Avenue. According to police, the man was walking across Elmwood in the crosswalk when the truck, which was making a right turn, struck the man.
The man died at the scene from his injuries.
Officers say they will consult with the solicitor's office to see if charges will be filed.
