Columbia, S.C. - SC Governor Nikki Haley spoke this morning with the South Carolina Emergency Management Division, and gave an introduction as to the slow process of recovery after Hurricane Matthew.

Providing an overview of what has happened, Haley went through some statistics from the event. The hurricane left three dead in South Carolina, two in Florence and one in Columbia. There have been nearly 3,700 calls for service, and 1,454 were for traffic collisions, since the state of emergency was called.

Haley's biggest takeaway for those in the state? Safety while driving around in the affected areas. She advised "do not drive around barricaded areas," and not to drive on flooded roads. Lastly, what is not flooded today, could be tomorrow.
