Water to be cut off in the town of Norway Saturday morning

The town said it needs to repair damage to the system.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Town of Norway said water service will be cut off Saturday morning so the town can make repairs to the system.

The town posted on their Facebook page that customers will lose service around 7:30 a.m. on September 21.  The city said the move is necessary to fix a water line that is broken.

They advised customers to put aside some water for drinking and flushing their toilets. They did not give an estimate on how long the repairs might take.

"We are sorry for any convenience," the town wrote.

Thought they didn't state if this was directly related, on September 16 the town reported a water line break on Third Street. That resulted in a loss of pressure to many customers. As a precaution, the town put in place a boil water advisory. That advisory was lifted two days later.
