Fight over romantic relationship led to Lexington shooting that injured three, deputies say

The shooting happened around 12:30 p.m. Saturday at a home in the 200 block of Oak Turn Lane in Gaston.

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — Lexington County deputies have arrested a group of suspects in connection with a weekend shooting that left three people wounded, including one of the suspects.

Deputies said Monday that Carl Randel Coleman, 47, and  Johnny Wilson, 44, both of Gaston are charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Anton Bernard Coleman, 43, is charged with pointing and presenting a firearm at a person.

The shooting happened around 12:30 p.m. Saturday at a home in the 200 block of Oak Turn Lane in Gaston. That's in an area just off Highway 321.

Deputies say they believe it began with a fight that started as a civil dispute. “According to statements gathered at the scene, the disagreement centers on people involved in a romantic relationship," Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said in a statement.

Three victims were taken to the hospital for treatment. That includes Coleman, who officers say was one of the wounded. He was charged after being dismissed from the hospital.

Anton and Carl Coleman, and Wilson are being held in the Lexington County Detention Center.
