CLARENDON COUNTY, S.C. — A Clarendon County woman is dead after being shot by her father over the weekend, according to the Clarendon County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies say they responded to a home in the Summerton area on Saturday, where they found 41-year-old Lekenla R. Cantey unresponsive in a hallway of the home. Cantey died on the scene, according to deputies.
Investigators say they discovered that Cantey had been shot by her father, who was in a wheelchair. Deputies say the shooting happened during a physical altercation between the father and daughter.
No charges have been filed at this time, according to deputies. The investigation remains ongoing.
