ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. — One person is dead after a single vehicle accident on I-26 in Orangeburg County on Monday.
Troopers with South Carolina Highway Patrol say the accident happened at 6:10 pm Monday on I-26 Westbound at the 148 mile marker, about eight miles north of Orangeburg.
Troopers say the driver of a 2013 Freightliner tractor-trailer was traveling westbound on I-26 when the vehicle traveled off right side of road and struck a tree.
The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to troopers.
