COLUMBIA, S.C. — Central Carolina Community Foundation is accepting financial donations to the One SC Fund at www.OneSCFund.org to support nonprofit organizations across South Carolina responding to the needs of individuals affected by Hurricane Helene.

The One SC Fund is a statewide disaster response initiative supported by philanthropic donors, corporate partners, and funders from across the state and country.

In times of state-declared emergency, the philanthropic community joins together in a unified effort to raise needed funds for nonprofits responding to disasters. In coordination with the South Carolina Office of Resilience, resources received by the fund are directed to South Carolina communities most in need.

How to Donate to the One SC Fund

Charitable contributions can be made to the One SC Fund:

  • Online at www.OneSCFund.org

  • By mailing a check payable to Central Carolina Community Foundation – One SC to: Central Carolina Community Foundation, 2142 Boyce Street, Suite 402, Columbia, SC 29201.

The One SC Fund was first established by Central Carolina Community Foundation with support from Governor Nikki Haley in 2015 to respond to The Thousand-Year Flood. The fund has since been activated in response to Hurricane Matthew, Hurricane Florence, and the COVID-19 Pandemic, and it is now active for Hurricane Helene.

Through the fund, Central Carolina Community Foundation has distributed $10,426,777 to nonprofits to support disaster recovery projects. 868,847 individuals have received assistance with basic needs such as food, rent and utility assistance, health care, and shelter. 2,300 families have been able to return home after disasters.

“It is incredible to see how, in times of crisis, our community responds with overwhelming generosity, from first responders to neighbors helping neighbors. By giving to the One SC Fund, we can all support the local nonprofits doing the front-line work of recovery from Hurricane Helene,” said Georgia Mjartan, Central Carolina Community Foundation president and CEO.

As funds are donated, nonprofits providing relief, recovery, and rebuilding assistance will be able to apply for a grant at www.YourFoundation.org/one-sc-fund. Individuals are not eligible to apply for a grant.
