COLUMBIA, S.C. — Columbia police are investigating a pedestrian collision that happened early Sunday morning.
Officers responded to the scene at the intersection of Harden and Devine Streets just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
Police say a 40-year-old male pedestrian was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he is in serious but stable condition.
Preliminary investigations found that the 22-year-old male driver was traveling southbound on Harden Street, while the pedestrian was walking westbound across the same roadway.
Police say they are currently processing the vehicle involved in the collision and reviewing surveillance footage from the area to gather more information.
