REMBERT, S.C. — A Midlands man is dead after being struck by a pickup truck, according to Sumter County Coroner Robbie Baker.
Authorities say the incident happened shortly after midnight Wednesday on Black River Road and Rice Drive in Rembert. 42-year old James Ryan Weikel of Kershaw County died on the scene.
The Sumter County Coroner's Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating the incident.
