Shooting off Rosewood Drive in Columbia leaves man wounded

Officers say they found a man at that location with a life-threatening injury to his upper body.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Columbia Police are investigating a shooting that took place in the Rosewood area of Columbia late Monday afternoon.

According to officers, the incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of Mitchell Street. That's in an area between Rosewood Drive and Hamilton-Owens Airport. 

Officers say they found a man at that location with a life-threatening injury to his upper body.  He was taken to the hospital for treatment. 

There's no word yet what may have led up to the shooting or if police thing they know who may be reponsible. Columbia Police say they continue to gathering evidence and information.
