SUMTER, S.C. — Meet Spike, a very lucky dog who found himself in a tight spot on Thursday.
Sumter police said Spike was "sniffing out mischief" when he got stuck in the dryer vent of a Warren Court home on Thursday afternoon.
According to police, they received a call around 2 p.m. from a woman babysitting her grandson's dog, Spike, who had gotten himself stuck in a dryer vent.
Sumter police and firefighters were quickly off to rescue Spike, who had to be cut free from the sticky situation. The dog is doing fine, according to police.
The resident had a sense of humor about the situation despite some new work to the house, according to Sumter Police Lt. C. Shepperd Lewis. Spike, it seems, tends "to get into things," she said.
