Seven law enforcement officers inducted into SC Law of Enforcement Hall of Fame

The seven inductees join 42 other members of the Law Enforcement Hall of Fame.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Seven law enforcement officers were inducted into the South Carolina Law Enforcement Hall of Fame on Thursday. These officers were recognized for their accomplishments and excellence throughout their careers. 

“I never thought I’d see a day like this, it’s an honor to receive the hall of fame. In my wildest dreams I never thought I’d be in this building today receiving that honor,” Arthur Gramling Dantzler said. 

Dantzler served over 30 years in public safety in the city of Cayce. he was recognized for his 39 years of service in the Cayce department of Public Safety. 

The seven inductees from today now join the 42 other members of the law enforcement Hall of Fame. 

Families, friends and several law enforcement agencies celebrated the officers’ careers and remembered those who are no longer here. 

Flora Brooks Boyd was recognized for her work with the department of juvenile justice along with several other of her roles. Although she is retired from law enforcement she says her work does not stop here. 

“No matter what, I'm going to always be involved in something in the community to make life better for all of us,” she said. 

According to the South Carolina Department of Public Safety the nominees for this honor must have proven a record of excellence and have 25 years minimum of law enforcement service.

  • Captain J.C. Pace of the South Carolina Department of Public Safety
  • Major McKinley Mack Weaver of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division
  • Sheriff A. Lewis McCarty of the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department
  • Unit Chief M. Bruce Jernigan of the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy
  • Chief A.G. Dantzler of the Cayce Department of Public Safety
  • Director Flora Brooks Boyd of the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice
  • Sheriff Woodrow C. Carter of the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office
