COLUMBIA, S.C. — One inmate's prison sentence may see an extension after a second victim recently stepped forward — a victim he's allegedly been trying to contact.

Samuel Lamont Whitner, 34, is currently serving 30 years at Broad River Correction Institute for sexually assaulting a 6-year-old family member in 2009.

The inmate is now facing a second criminal sexual conduct charge in connection to a woman who says he sexually assaulted her in 2009, when she was 10 and 11 years old. Whitner, who is the ex-fiance of the victim's mother, was out on bond for the 2009 conviction at the time.

She decided to come forward in January because Whitner had repeatedly sent her social media messages asking for nude photos, according to a report.

Those messages were provided to law enforcement, who later discovered a contraband phone in Whitener's cell.
