SCDOT to temporarily close I-20 West ramp to I-26 West in Richland County for construction

The ramp is expected to be reopened by 5 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 19.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina Department of Transportation will temporarily close the I-20 westbound ramp (Exit 64B) onto I-26 westbound at 11 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 16, to perform construction. The ramp is expected to reopen by 5 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 19. The closure is part of Phase 2 of the Carolina Crossroads Project.

As part of this closure, a detour will be put in place.

Drivers traveling from I-20 Westbound who wish to use Exit 64B to I-26 Westbound will instead use the clover leaf interchange by continuing along I-20 Westbound and taking Exit 64A onto I-26 Eastbound, then taking Exit 107B onto I-20 Eastbound, and exiting at 64B onto I-26 Westbound. Message board signs will display detour directions.

Visit the project webpage for other project information and updates. The public may also contact the Project Hotline at 800-601-8715. Drivers can plan their routes ahead of time by using SCDOT's 511 SC app or visiting 511sc.org.
