Lexington County, SC (WLTX) - A Lexington School District Two school bus and a truck collided with each other Wednesday, sending several students to the hospital.
The incident happened around 1:10 p.m. on Highway 302 just south of the town of South Congaree while the bus was taking students home from Congaree Elementary and Congaree/Wood Childhood Center.
According to the district, the bus was in the process of making a stop at the home of a student when it was hit in the rear by the truck. South Congaree police say 18 students were taken to three local hospitals for further medical examination. Officers say there were no visible injuries to the children.
Other children who were on the bus who were not hurt were allowed to go home with a parent or guardian.
