No injuries after school bus, box truck collide in Columbia

No injuries were reported.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — A school bus and a box truck collided in Columbia late Thursday afternoon but luckily there were no injuries.

The incident happened near Weston Avenue and Prescott Road near J.P. Thomas Elementary School, which is just off Fairfield Road.

According to Richland One officials, the bus was leaving the school when the accident took place. The district said there were 24 students from an afterschool program on board. However, the district said emergency personnel checked them out at the scene and cleared them to leave. No injuries were reported.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
