SALUDA COUNTY, S.C. — A 30-year-old man is dead after a single car accident in Saluda County of Sunday.
The single vehicle collision happened on Sunday evening, September 8, 2024 on Pencreek Road near Dean Road, less than a mile from the town limits of Saluda, according to the Saluda County Coroner's Office.
Authorities say a 2015 Chevrolet Camaro appeared to have exited the right side of the road while traveling east, hitting a ditch and fence before hitting two large trees and coming to rest in the yard of a home.
The driver, who died at the scene, was later identified as Damion R. Gantt of Saluda.
An autopsy has been scheduled for later this week.
The collision is being investigated by the Saluda County Coroner’s Office and the SC Highway Patrol.
