Columbia, SC (WLTX)- An assembly at St. Joseph Catholic school in Columbia turned into an emotional reunion for one student.
Inara Spector was picked out of the crowd to reveal who was in one of the mascot costumes. Little did she know, her father Sgt. Joel Spector, was inside the Mr. Pig costume. Sgt. Spector is on his second deployment, he's been in Kuwait for 6 months.
"I miss my family. I am very fortunate that I get to come back," said Sgt. Spector.
"I thought it was a dream, I just really couldn't believe it," said Inara.
The fourth grade student says she has missed her dad a lot since he has been deployed.
"On a scale of 1 to 10 I guess I would say a million," said Inara.
The Spector family plans to spend Thanksgiving together.
