South Carolina police warn of drugs that may appeal to kids after traffic stop leads to arrest

Police warn parents to be on the lookout for colorful pills in various shapes that may appeal to kids after an arrest last week.

DARLINGTON, S.C. — Darlington police are advising parents to be on the lookout for colorful pills in various shapes that might appeal to children after arresting a man for trafficking ecstasy last week.

Police say a traffic stop on April 26 ended with the arrest of Donald Hill, Jr. Hill is charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and trafficking MDMA (ecstasy).

Hill was found to have approximately 135 pills in his possession, according to investigators. The pills were of various shapes, including Warner Brothers symbols, fish, stars, pigs, naked ladies and bats.

Police say MDMA is a synthetic drug that alters mood, perception and awareness of surrounding objects and conditions. It is chemically like both stimulants and hallucinogens, producing feelings of increased energy, pleasure, emotional warmth, and distorted sensory and time perception, they say.

Police say they are advising parents in the community to be on the lookout for the colorful pills in different shapes. Should you encounter the, police say you should notify your local law enforcement agency.
