COLUMBIA, S.C. — This is the fourth consecutive year the circus has entertained crowds at the South Carolina State Fair.
Rinaldo, the professional clown of the act, loves that no matter where you come from laughter and feelings of joy are universal.
"Bringing a sense of joy and unification… because everyone laughs no matter their religion or what background they have, where they come from, what their economic status is. Everyone laughs," Rinaldo said
This year, the circus has two new acts featuring international performers from Italy and Taiwan.
Laser Man Gimmi Fornaciari and Juggler Chu Chuanho have never been to the South Carolina State Fair, but are insisting they'll come back in coming years.
“The audience has been clapping during our acts, which is nice, and I get to see the children, and it's exciting because they seem to like the show,” Fornaciari said.
Laser Man brings a new form of entertainment to the show by shooting lasers out of his hands, controlling their every direction.
Working fairs like this is a great feeling according to Chu, who uses his juggling skills to wow the crowd.
“I like the feeling here. It's special in the fair and I feel there are a lot of kids which is good for me, I love the kids,” Chu said. "The people, you feel the togetherness. Working the show is exciting and everyone I work with feels like family.”
The circus schedule runs until the end of the fair, three times a day at 2, 4:30, and 7:30 pm.
